Job Description

A New Leaf is seeking a, full time Support Partner to work at our East Valley Men's Center. The Men's Center has 94-beds, 76 for shelter and 18 for transitional living. The program provides comprehensive services and personalized strategies for each resident.  Many of the men face challenges because of life changing events, past substance abuse, criminal involvement or simply a long life on the streets. 

EVMC’s goal for the men is to re-integrate into the community with safe and stable housing and the tools to maintain self-sufficiency. Case Managers work individually with clients to set personal goals and address barriers that inhibit one from becoming a productive and contributing members of society. The Center provides life skills training, work assistance, socialization skills, Rapid Re-Housing efforts, food, basic needs and shelter. A multitude of collaborative partners provide additional services including financial education and medical services while dedicated volunteers cook dinner nightly.

Schedule: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 4PM-11:30PM & Saturday 3PM-11PM

Pay Rate: $12.00

Major areas of responsibility (included but not limited to): 

  • Answer and screen telephone calls (multiple lines). Provide resources/screening crisis calls.
  • Complete client intake/exit forms.
  • Assist with the introduction of program and facility orientation. Brief clients on house rules, chores, housekeeping, requirements and fire safety instructions, assuring adherence.
  • Provide varied verbal and physical crisis intervention.
  • Assist with maintaining program appearance; cleanliness and maintenance of agency physical plant, equipment and/or agency vehicles. May report repairs and maintenance needs.
  • Prepare and/or assist with meal/snack preparation and serving, including assisting with cleanup.
  • Complete all job duties on duty list. Document (verbal/written) and submit significant and routine paperwork.
  • Provide transportation in the agency vehicle as needed for scheduled activities. Oversee off-site activities.
  • Receive client care supervision as required by state law and A New Leaf policy and procedures.

Skills / Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience working with the homeless or economically disadvantaged population preferred.
  • Knowledge of community resources preferred and/or experience in a social service. 
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation, current auto liability insurance and a clean 39-month motor vehicle record.
  • Must have a Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card or be able to pass various background checks in order to obtain one.
  • Due to state licensing, applicants must be a minimum 21 years of age.
  • Must have the skills necessary to engage and work with others from diverse ethnic and cultural groups, coupled with maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Demonstrate and provide strong communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be committed to teamwork and have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
