Job Description

Services focus on HEALTH, HOUSING, EDUCATION, AND COMMUNITY SERVICES, offering a continuum of support to move households from crisis to long-term health and stability. A New Leaf continues to grow to respond to needs in our community by developing comprehensive, relevant, and effective services for vulnerable and underserved families, children, and adults. 

A New Leaf is currently seeking an Education Director to join our amazing team!

SCHEDULE: FT, Monday – Friday, 9am – 6pm, with flexibility to meet program need.

Pay: DOE

Essential Functions (including but not limited to): This position interacts with all levels, both inside and outside the company (e.g. clients, courts, agencies, etc.)

  • Providing instructional leadership by promoting high standards for learning, ensuring the use of effective teaching practices, and providing adequate curricular and training resources to staff.
  • Selecting, motivating, supervising and evaluating all early childhood education staff; initiating / recommending personnel actions when necessary.
  • Ensuring all local, state and federal licensing requirements are met or exceeded and that all licensing procedures, forms, applications and other requirements are completed in a timely manner
  • Managing the NAC accreditation and Quality First! processes to ensure accreditation and 4 Star rating are maintained.
  • Overseeing all early childhood education program related operations; conducting the annual center staff evaluations, participating in the development and overseeing the early education budget throughout the year and, maintaining early education program records and resources.
  • Developing and implementing an annual plan for the early childhood education program inclusive of parent engagement strategies that includes goals/objectives, and performance indicators to be tracked and followed throughout the year.
  • Developing program related operational policies and procedures and implementing organizational policies established by the Board and/or Executive Director
  • Supporting marketing and fundraising efforts including grant writing, FACEBOOK, creating and/or posting twitter and web blog messages, and tours with parents and visitors
  • Ensuring the safety and security of all children, staff, visitors, and public and private property.

Skills / Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Demonstrate skills in all major areas of maintenance, such as carpentry, remodeling, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, painting, roofing, pool maintenance and vehicle diagnosing and repair.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation, a clean 39-month motor vehicle record and current auto liability insurance.
  • A Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card or be able to pass various background checks in order to obtain one.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detailed oriented, organized and able to handle multiple projects at the same time.
  • Demonstrate and provide strong communication skills both verbally and in writing

Due to state licensing, applicants must be a minimum 21 years of age. Must be a minimum 25 years of age to drive a 15 passenger agency van.
